Independent Medical Examination
Independent Medical Examinations (IME) are used by insurance companies, attorneys, and others involved in managing workers’ compensation, personal injury, and disability cases. IMEs are performed by impartial physicians to provide information on case management, evidence in hearings and other legal proceedings. The medical expert must know the criteria and context of the client’s request prior to performing the IME.
